Tommy started playing the drums in the third grade. By sixth grade, he began playing in bands with Keith Moran in Garden City, New York. The musical partnership with Keith and later to include Dave Moran would last for nearly 20 years. Their band Never On Sunday began in the late 1980s and performed throughout the New York City club scene. The band released its first studio album in 1993. Their first big break came when they were tapped to open for headliners Mighty Bosstones and Beastie Boys for multiple dates of the alternative sports and music festival, with stops throughout the North East. The buzz for the band continued into NYC where they played two shows at CBGB to a packed house. The band had major label interest and was invited to perform private showcases for Atlantic Records and MCA Records but were never signed. In 1995 they released their second studio album, a self-titled independent release. Multiple tracks from the album were featured on the Surf NRG video series and a featured review of the album in Surfing Magazine helped launch the band into the global music scene.

In 1999 the band was signed to multi-platinum producer Lewis Martinee'. A year later in 2000, Tommy and Lewis formed a partnership and introduced 76 Music Marketing & Management. Tommy and 76 Music would release all the band's later efforts. Lewis took the band in a much more radio-friendly/Top 40 direction. The band had two singles that scored regional success at Top 40 radio including "There's no one else" and "Superfly". After the songs started showing on radio playlists across the country, Tommy was once again called into Atlantic Records to meet with Andy Shane of the Lava label but no offer was made.

Tommy would go on to work with Lewis on multiple projects that were based out of Extreme Music Studio in Miami, which was owned by Lewis and his partner Oscar Llord, who was Chairman of Sony Latin America at the time. Projects included Shakira, Ricky Martin, Elvis Crespo, and Son by Four to name a few.

Over his music career, Tommy had the opportunity to share the stage with great artists like The Tragically Hip, Goo Goo Dolls, Gin Blossoms, Offspring, Might Bosstones, Augustana, Beastie Boys, KT Tunstall, Carrie Underwood, Mat Kearney, Snow Patrol, Landon Pigg, and Enrique Iglesias to name some highlights.
